The Technical Details: What is a Wetpour Safety Surface?
'Wetpour' safety surfaces are created by mixing rubber granules and polyurethane resin together, this is carried out on site using our special forced-action mixers and then laid onto a suitable solid prepared ground.
Wetpour is installed in two separate layers -
- Base layer of SBR rubber
- Top layer of virgin EPDM rubber
The eco-friendly base layer is recycled rubber made up from used tyres. We mix this together with a polyurethane binder and then we install this layer to form a shock absorbing durable base coat in accordance with the correct critical fall height.
The top layer is made from virgin EPDM. This is also mixed together with polyurethane binder and then installed on top of the rubber base coat and finished off to achieve a smooth seamless surface.
Wetpour is a porous product and is very low maintenance which is perfect for use all year round.
